I walked around the roads of Yogyakarta after having a delicious breakfast of tropical fruits and spicy noodles from my hostel. The locals were starting the day, biking through the streets and I saw a man resting on his becak (traditional taxi bike) enduring the heat.

This photo captures three modalities of transportation: a car, motorcycle, and the man's steady becak. As tourists begin using Grab taxi services and motorbikes, the traditional pedal-powered becak has been sidelined. I saw a sadness of innovation that day.
